AG concludes nationwide MFMA 2024-25 roadshows
Auditor-General Tsakani Maluleke successfully concluded the nationwide MFMA roadshows held during March and April 2026, engaging both internal teams and key external stakeholders across all nine provinces. The roadshows provided illuminating insights into the state of local government, zooming in on accountability, governance challenges and opportunities for improvement. The roadshows form part of the organisation’s #cultureshift2030 strategy, designed to strengthen collaboration across the public sector, while reinforcing the AGSA’s role in driving meaningful impact.
A key feature of the roadshows was its dual-track approach. Internally, the AGSA leadership engaged directly with staff across provincial offices, creating space for reflection, recognition and alignment with organisational goals. These sessions highlighted the important work done by Team AGSA in improving audit outcomes, addressing material irregularities and embracing innovation. At the same time, the engagements reinforced the importance of building a strong internal culture as the foundation for external impact.
The external roadshows, which ran alongside these engagements, brought the AGSA leadership into direct discussions with premiers, MECs, speakers of legislatures and municipal leaders. These sessions created a platform for open and constructive dialogue, generating critical insights into governance challenges, audit outcomes and the actions required to improve service delivery.
