PRETORIA – The Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) has been elected as the external auditor of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) for the 2024–29 term.

PRETORIA –Auditor-General (AG) Tsakani Maluleke has welcomed the withdrawal of the appeal by the Road Accident Fund (RAF) against the Gauteng Division of the High Court’s ruling that it was inappropriate to interdict the AGSA from exercising its constitutional obligations to audit and report. The appeal had been set down for argument in the Supreme Court of Appeal on 8 May 2023.

PRETORIA – Auditor-General (AG) Tsakani Maluleke has noted the announcement by the Minister of Finance, Enoch Godongwana, to withdraw a gazette granting Eskom exemption from disclosing irregular, fruitless and wasteful expenditure in its financial statements.
