Wafiyyah Quereshi CA (SA)

18 March 2020, marks the last day of an almost 9 year journey (a month and a half short of 9 years to be exact).

I started out at the AG NW as a senior administrator. When one of the senior managers (= to a partner in a private firm) heard that I had a BCom, he convinced me to do my articles with the AG and that's how my journey in audit began...

From Senior Administrator to Trainee Auditor to Assistant Audit Manager to Technical Manager...

The past 9 years (yes I'm rounding up) has not been without its challenges.

Let me just clarify - public sector audit in the NW is NOT for the faint hearted. However, each challenge was set off by an even greater reward of learning, growth and development and the opportunity to work with seasoned managers and senior managers (who are absolute SOLDIERS btw - that truly audit without fear, favour or prejudice).

Todays bitter-sweet! I leave behind the people and organisation that have been my home for the past 9 years... But I'm also excited for what the future holds!

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the AG for affording me every possible opportunity and my colleagues for their support, guidance and friendship. It has truly been a privilege serving with each and every one of you
