Sindisa Dunga Career Expo 26-29 April 2016 and Colosa Career Expo 26 May 2016

posted on

Part of improving the quality of the BU’s intake, we conduct branding activities at high schools that focuses on informing students about the AGSA’s value proposition and dealing with the current challenges of the students ranging from high unemployment and sharing with them how they could  work harder to achieve their goals.

The Eastern Cape Business Unit (ECBU) participates in several Career Expo’s around the Eastern Cape Province yearly in an attempt to:

 1. Inspire learners in dreaming big, become something and have a better future

2. Awareness to high school learners about the Chartered Accountancy profession

3. Opportunities accessible at AGSA

 4. Financial and study assistance available and offered by our organisation

As per norm, the ECBU participated in the Sindisa Dunga career expo which took place over a period of three days on 26, 28 and 29 April 2016 at Umtata, Butterworth and Willow vale to give awareness to high school learners about the wide range of careers to choose from.

This year will mark the 6th year of involvement of the Auditor General in the career expo hosted by the Sindisa Dunga Foundation (SDF) since 2011.

The unique attribute of the SDF Foundation is that learners are not only empowered by career information, but we also donate study guides for Maths, English and calculators to help them excel in their studies, as well as other promotional items.

This year the BU was also involved in Colosa Career Expo on the 26th May 2016, with the same aim of spreading awareness about our profession and the opportunities that the office offers and this was a big success.

The smiles and the hope written all over the learners faces make these initiatives worthwhile.
